Manchester United: Fans react to club post praising Red Devils duo Harry Maguire and David de Gea

A large number of Manchester United fans reacted to a tweet from the club’s official account praising the work rate of Harry Maguire and David de Gea this season.

According to the post, the Red Devils duo have played in every single minute of the 2019/2020 Premier League campaign so far, equating to over 5k minutes on the clock between them.

Since moving to Old Trafford from Leicester City for £78.3m last summer, club captain Maguire has put in a series of impressive performances at the back, completing 4.5 clearances and making 1.9 interceptions on average per game in the English top tier (via WhoScored).

De Gea has kept 8 clean sheets between the sticks for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, averaging 2.6 saves per match, and achieving a high pass accuracy of 91% inside his own half. The Spaniard received a high statistical rating of 7.9 for his display against derby rivals Manchester City earlier this month (SofaScore).

Predictably plenty of United supporters gushed over the club’s revelation on social media, with one fan stating that the two players are “the real deal.” Another simply dubbed them “ballers.”
