After his side lost at Old Trafford 2-1 on Wednesday night, former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to make a move for long-time favourite Nemanja Matic in January – with the club rumoured to be looking to offload him for a potential £15m, according to Bleacher Report.
Mourinho and Matic have been flocking from club to club together over the past few seasons, firstly linking up at Chelsea to devastating effect for a while before the Portuguese boss moved on to Manchester.
In response, the Serbian followed him a year later and became a first-team favourite under Mourinho for two seasons – making 64 Premier League appearances in two years for United.
Now, a tweet from Utd Report circulated the possibility that Matic could follow in the former Porto boss’ footsteps again if the club accept a £15m bid from Spurs in January.
As a result, fans have responded hilariously to the rumours that Mourinho could be reclaiming his prodigal son.
