Loads of Manchester United fans are drooling over some footage from their under-18 side’s defeat to Derby County, as summer signing Hannibal Mejbri produced a stunning no-look through ball.
With the Red Devils not in action until Sunday afternoon, fans drew their attention to the youth sides on Saturday, and to say Mejbri impressed may be an understatement going from the reactions on Twitter. The 17 year-old prodigy signed last summer for a fee of £9m (Transfermarkt), but is yet to feature in the first-team.
The French teenager is certainly strutting his stuff for the academy sides though, racking up six assists in 15 appearances for the under-18s, and playing with the type of flair that is sorely missing in the senior side. Despite a 2-1 defeat to Derby County on Saturday, the former Monaco starlet produced the moment of the match, lifting a no-look pass in behind the Rams’ defence, via @utdreportAcad.
