Manchester United take on neighbours Rochdale in the Carabao Cup later and the club have provided an injury update for supporters ahead of that clash.
Midfielder Paul Pogba, who has missed the Red Devils’ last three games against Leicester, Astana and West Ham, could feature in some capacity against the League One side, with 17-year-old Mason Greenwood likely to start up-front in the absence of both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford – both of whom are sidelined with injury (via manutd.com).
Elsewhere, left-back Luke Shaw remains ruled out with a hamstring complaint, while Eric Baily is also out with a knee injury. Although Wednesday’s match is against lower league opposition and in the EFL Cup, a win is a necessity considering the poor performance the Red Devils put in against West Ham at the weekend.
