According to a piece by the MEN, Manchester United were in deep negotiations with Red Bull Salzburg and Mino Raiola over the transfer of Erling Braut Haaland to Old Trafford – eventually refusing to meet the agent’s demands which prompted the Norwegian’s move to Borussia Dortmund.
If sources are to be believed, Raiola demanded a buyout clause for the player’s contract – with Ed Woodward and the club refusing to meet those terms and also refusing to be held to ransom by Paul Pogba’s agent.

This hiccup in the transfer negotiations, ultimately, led to the deal collapsing – with Bundesliga giants Dortmund taking full advantage and snapping up the teenager to bolster their forward line.
As a result, some United supporters have praised the board for their sternness when dealing with the infamously controversial Raiola – flocking to Twitter in full voice to show their content with a bold decision.
Here’s what they had to say on social media.
If true was the right move. Also puts full faith in Martial as the no 9 and space for Greenwood to get games in his preferred role too.

Nice to see Ed developing a little bit of backbone.

We’re #mufc, finally we’re getting back the big club mentality which won’t let an agent to control its football transfers.

Glad to hear that piece of news at least. United to cut ties with Raiola when Pogba leaves, two less snakes associated with the club.

After Raiola made them sign Mkhitaryan, Zlatan, Pogba, Lukaku and what happened afterwards with these players I think Man U’s board have enough of his antics….
