Loads of Manchester United fans have blasted the news the Red Devils are interested in West Ham’s Declan Rice, according to The Telegraph.
Football correspondent Matt Law reports Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keeping an eye on the defensive midfielder after he has impressed for David Moyes’ side this season.
The West Ham United academy graduate has made 29 appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers in this campaign, picking up 2 assists, making 3 tackles per game, averaging 2.1 interceptions, and making 1.4 clearances in the English top flight so far (via WhoScored).
However, United face stiff competition from Frank Lampard’s Chelsea for the 21-year-old’s signature, who are also in the running to sign Borussia Dortmund’s highly coveted winger, Jadon Sancho.
Solskjaer intends to push forward with a squad overhaul in the summer, despite the uncertainty surrounding the transfer window in light of the ongoing pandemic, and it appears the England international is part of his future plans.
However, a whole host of the Old Trafford faithful criticised the transfer link to Rice, as one fan labelled him as “truly awful,” while another even added “Ole is a clown.”
