Manchester United: Fans slam Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s crossing vs Wolves

Loads of Manchester United fans were left disappointed by Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s performance in possession on Wednesday night, as the young right-back lost the ball more than any other player on the pitch and supporters lambasted his ‘shocking‘ crossing abilities.

The Wan-Bissaka vs Trent Alexander-Arnold debate will likely rage on for years, with the popular consensus seemingly that the Red Devils man is the better defender while Liverpool’s young star is superior on the ball. The stats back this up too, with Wan-Bissaka averaging a whopping 4.1 tackles per game in the league but only grabbing one assist, while Alexander-Arnold has eight top-flight assists but only makes 1.5 tackles per game.

Given the way modern full-backs are often deployed though, especially at big clubs who want to dominate matches, Wan-Bissaka will certainly have to improve his abilities with the ball at his feet, and he showed no signs of that against Wolves on Wednesday evening.

The former Crystal Palace man, signed this summer for £50m, was solid as usual in defence with four tackles, but he lost possession 20 times, completed none of his four cross attempts and none of his three long ball attempts, per Sofascore.
