According to quotes via the Daily Mail, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed that he could be looking to secure some loan and permanent deals, potentially for the striker position, in light of Marcus Rashford’s injury – prompting some Red Devils supporters to hammer the claims with a hint of cynicism.
The Reds fell to a 2-0 defeat at rivals Liverpool on Sunday, with the away side spurning a number of chances to equalise before Mohamed Salah broke away in the final minute to secure a crucial Anfield win for the hosts. Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial both had opportunities to level the score but ultimately squandered them, with manager Solskjaer going on to hint at the possibility of loaning or permanently signing a striker after the game.
Of the forwards linked with a potential move to Old Trafford, want-away Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani could be top of the bill after he handed in a transfer request, as per the Daily Mirror. However, given United’s fruitless transfer window so far, one supporter jokingly hinted at the prospect of signing Bournemouth target man and ex-youth prospect Joshua King instead.

The Uruguayan, who has appeared to be frozen out by the French champions having made just nine overall appearances this season, bagged a prolific 18 goals and five assists in 20 league outings last campaign, according to WhoScored.com. By comparison, King didn’t match that tally, scoring 12 and assisting three in 34 starts for Bournemouth in the Premier League over 2018/2019.
However, these United fans appeared to dismiss the notion of signing any striker in January, fearing the worst – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Joshua King incoming

So disappointing the way this club is being run. We got rid of Lukaku and did not replace him. We missed Haland and we are struggling to buy Fernandes. That is why we always pay over the odd for average players. This fire brigade approach will not work. Very sad.

We can’t even close the deal on bruno, what made you think that Ed would even agree on signing a new striker and if he agrees do you think he will get it done while the transfer window is still open, for anyone who still think we can get sancho in this transfer window, get a life.
