Manchester United: Fans tear into Anthony Martial after Wolves draw

A number of Manchester United fans were left fuming with Anthony Martial after witnessing his latest performance in the famous red strip of the club on Saturday evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side failed to close the gap on Chelsea in the race for fourth place in the Premier League as Wolverhampton Wanderers kept their own hopes alive with a goalless draw.

Whilst a number of the Manchester United fans would have been delighted to have seen Bruno Fernandes thrown straight into the first-team so quickly after joining from Sporting Lisbon, there appeared to be one individual that irked many of them on social media with his performance.

Martial was largely ineffective in the game as he struggled to really make an impact despite being deployed in the lone-striker role. According to the data compiled by WhoScored, the 24-year-old failed to register a single shot on goal, made just one key pass and completed just over 81% of his attempted passes.

The club’s faithful were super critical of the Frenchman’s display on Twitter, with many of them slamming him and suggesting that he does not do enough for the team anymore.

Anthony Martial not doing enough lately at all for me. Can’t ignore coaching is terrible, but his movement needs to be better. Being a striker isn’t just about finishing chances, it’s about moving into positions to get those chances. His linkup is fine, his movement needs work.
