After Manchester United overcame Spurs 2-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, with a brace from Marcus Rashford sealing all three points for the Red Devils, some supporters have made comparisons between the Englishman and Romelu Lukaku when it comes to performing on the big occasion.
Lukaku left for Inter Milan in the summer after a couple of mixed seasons in Manchester, with the Belgian having a reputation for failing to score in huge encounters – prompting a few supporters to hail Rashford in comparison when faced with this rather amazing statistic.
According to Utd Report, the 22-year-old has now bagged four Premier League braces – with all of them coming against a top-six side – more specifically Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and now Tottenham.
By comparison, Lukaku’s record is terrible, scoring just one goal in 17 matches against the top six as of March 2019 – with fans hilariously comparing the two following Rashford’s recent run of form.
