Responding to a piece by the Manchester Evening News, detailing Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams’ brilliant performance during their 0-0 FA Cup away tie at Wolves, Red Devils supporters have campaigned for change around the left-back position – pleading with the club to start him over Luke Shaw.

Williams, who played the entirety of United’s stalemate at Molineux, thoroughly impressed on the left-hand-side for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men – with the youngster even saying that he should have been awarded a penalty after going down in the box.
The 19-year-old has started four games for United so far this campaign, in the Premier League, making a handful of appearances in other competitions and starting three games in Europe – with his latest outing prompting a wave of United supporters to campaign for his regular playing time.
As per WhoScored, Williams actually averages more key passes per Premier League game on average (1 to 0.6) than Shaw, while winning more offsides over the same period (0.7 to 0.2), two key aspects in being a modern day full-back. We’ve seen the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold emerge as a major force in a top European side for his attacking exploits, so Williams – who has also scored one more goal than Shaw this season – does look to have the stronger offensive tools while also not being caught out as often when pushing up the pitch.
Tweeting on social media, these fans also think that Shaw should be cast out in favour of Williams – here’s what they had to say.
No brainier- Williams offers so much more of an attacking threat and defends better than Shaw.
