England manager Gareth Southgate is expected to rest Marcus Rashford for this evening’s game against Kosovo at St Mary’s, replacing him with Borussia Dortmund wide man Jadon Sancho, per Sky Sports.
Rashford, who started Saturday’s 4-0 win over Bulgaria, will be rested for tonight’s clash on the south coast as manager Southgate looks to ‘freshen things up’ against the European minnows.
Sancho has already produced three goals and four assists in all competitions for Dortmund this term, and came on for the final 20 minutes at Wembley three days ago.
Southgate is also set to hand starts to full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Chillwell (via Sky Sports), while Leicester City’s James Maddison could be introduced to make his senior debut as the game nears its end, per the Independent.
“We need to get the right attacking and defending profiles to make sure we win the game,” said Southgate, ahead of this evening’s clash (Sky Sports).
With the news of Sancho replacing Rashford in the England team tonight, many United fans have taken to Twitter to plead with their beloved club to do the same next season…
