Manchester United: Graeme Souness’ comments on Jadon Sancho anger Red Devils fans

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has once again received a fair amount of abuse from Manchester United fans, after the Scotsman dismissed a report of the Red Devils agreeing personal terms with Jadon Sancho on Sky Sports

Earlier this month Souness came under fire from a large section of the fan base following his attack on Paul Pogba in an interview with the Sunday Times.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the football pundit claimed United could have their “trousers taken down” and warned Ed Woodward must negotiate a contract with Borussia Dortmund first before talking to Sancho’s representatives.

The former Scottish manager noted: “I don’t see it, unless the whole world has changed. I don’t think you get into personal terms, length of contract, buy-outs and clauses until the two clubs have decided on a fee.

“I mean the first thing is that the two clubs come to an agreement, the rest comes second, so I’m not sure that can be correct.”

He concluded: “if you’re Man United and you are doing that, without a deal done with Dortmund, you will have your trousers taken down when you get round a table with Dortmund.”

After arriving at the Signal Iduna Park from Manchester City for a mere £7m all the way back in 2017, the 20-year-old has dazzled the German crowds, scoring 14 goals and producing 15 assists in 23 appearances in the Bundesliga for Lucien Favre’s side this season (WhoScored).

Chelsea are also in the running to sign the talented youngster, but it seems Blues boss Frank Lampard has been usurped by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as reports claim the England international has been in secret dialogue with the Red Devils for several months.

All things considered, there is no doubt Souness’ opinion on the ongoing Sancho transfer saga has only worsened his relationship with the United faithful.

Unsurprisingly, loads of supporters were angered by his latest comments, with one fan even calling him a “melon head.”
