Manchester United: Hannibal Mejbri performances for U18s have supporters gushing over ‘next big thing’

Responding to a piece by the Athletic surrounding exciting young academy prospect Hannibal Mejbri, many Manchester United fans have been in awe over reported comments that he may be the ‘next big thing‘ – with one supporter even declaring him the ‘next Pogba‘.

Mejbri, who has played 14 games overall for United’s U18s side this season, scoring one goal and assisting six others (Transfermarkt), is seen as a real talent that could one day progress into the Red Devils first team. Mejbri arrived last summer in a £9.3 million move from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco, and with his reportedly strong showings for the academy, it’s a transfer the club are starting to see pay off.

The playmaker, according to a report from the Sun, also attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur. Mejbri, recently, has also climbed up to the U23s side despite being just 17-years-old – highlighting the fact he could have real future potential.
