According to statistics courtesy of news account utdreport, Manchester United have kept the joint-second most clean sheets in Europe this season, with supporters flocking to hail Harry Maguire in particular along with a special nod to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Maguire, who was signed for a defensive world record £80m fee last summer, has since gone on to accumulate 27 league starts for the Red Devils, becoming a mainstay of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backline.
Compared to centre-back partner Victor Lindelof’s WhoScored stats from last season, Maguire has managed to better the Swede’s rate of interceptions (1.8) and clearances per game (4.1), perhaps hinting that the England international’s presence has indeed helped United to remain resolute in defence. According to utdreport, the Red Devils have kept 17 clean sheets in all competitions, with only Paris Saint-Germain bettering that record with 22.
