Highly rated 18-year-old midfielder Praet is the man on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar, after the Belgian turned in a string of impressive performances in front of the United scouts.
A creative midfielder is top of Ferguson’s priorities for the January transfer window, and Praet fits the bill. However convincing Anderlecht to part with one of their most prized assets could prove difficult.
He is contracted to the club until 2015, and talks of a lucrative extension have got under way.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are all understood to be admirers of the teenager.
