According to quotes from Norwegian broadcast station TV2 via The Daily Mail, Bournemouth striker Josh King has admitted that a return to Manchester United would’ve been a ‘dream‘ – going on to state his disappoint that the move to Old Trafford did not happen.
King, who was being targeted by United in the January transfer window when the Red Devils were searching for a last-minute forward replacement for the injured Marcus Rashford, has bagged three goals and two assists in the Premier League this season for Bournemouth, as per WhoScored.com.
The Norwegian striker, who is now ‘focused’ following his failed deadline day move (BBC), has admitted that the transfer’s collapse was a disappointment – with United instead opting to sign former Watford striker Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua. Comparing the pair’s best Premier League campaigns going forward, King managed to bag 16 goals in 31 Premier League starts during the 2016/2017 season while Ighalo racked up 15 strikes in 36 starts for Watford in 2015/2016.

However, despite King having the edge in that regard, these United supporters have no regrets over missing out on him, taking to Twitter and slamming his recent admission, with one dismissing him as “finished“:

Bournemouth were asking for £50 million for a player who has scored double digits once in his career. Now they will get relegated and sell him for £15 million. Well done @afcbournemouth
