Manchester United sent scouts to watch Kaua Elias in action for Shakhtar Donetsk — and they were given an impressive showing from the 20-year-old striker.
The Brazil youth international responded by scoring a perfect hat-trick in Shakhtar’s 5-1 victory over Kudrivka, finding the net with a header before completing his treble with finishes from his left and right foot.
Elias has been tipped to have “huge potential” by scout Ben Mattinson, and United’s representatives were able to see first-hand why the youngster is attracting attention across Europe.
According to The Sun, the striker has reportedly been monitored by the Red Devils for several weeks, while Arsenal, AC Milan and Porto are also understood to be keeping tabs on him.
Shakhtar are believed to want around £30 million for Elias, who has impressed with his ability to use both feet, attack crosses and remain composed in front of goal.
For United, the Brazilian could offer much-needed attacking depth behind their new-look front three while giving the club another promising young player to develop.
