The Transfer Tavern’s favourite ever goalkeepers Peter Schmeichel has ruled out the chance of Wayne Rooney leaving Old Trafford this summer, as reported exclusively by talkSPORT.
The United legend has had his say as the summer saga continues to rumble on with Rooney playing an hour for England in midweek against Scotland.
The 27 year old wants out of Old Trafford, but the Premier League champions are refusing to sell their man.
Chelsea have had two bids turned down by David Moyes and United and Arsenal are now keen to bring the former Everton man to London.
Moyes has stood firm in a less than ideal situation to come into a new club to find and Schmeichel agrees that the club should not sell one of its best players, especially to a title rival.
“I don’t think Wayne is going anywhere,” he told talkSPORT.
“Manchester United do not sell their best players. We shouldn’t sell any player rated in the best 10 in the world.
“I don’t see any player out there better than him so why would you sell him.
“I think 95% of all of this has been media speculation.
“I think something which is really important here is that Wayne is still at the club which means if Manchester United wanted to get rid of him they would have done that a long, long time ago.
“They know what impact a player of Wayne’s calibre has on the football club and the speculation that follows that.”

It is totally absurd for any one to think man utd will be willing to sell Waza! I belive and agree with the legend that 95% of all the discussion of such are all media lies and speculations. Rooney fo life, Man utd forever!!!
