Manchester United: Many Red Devils fans buzzing over David Ornstein’s latest Jadon Sancho transfer update

A plethora of Manchester United fans are going giddy over David Ornstein’s recent comments on the latest transfer news surrounding highly touted teenager Jadon Sancho.

Speaking on the brand new Warm Down podcast today, Ornstein stated: “The indications are that the Jadon Sancho deal is not for Chelsea, whether that’s around money, Champions League qualification or the saturation of wing players.”

The Athletic correspondent then went on to urge caution, reiterating “as things stand, I think United are looking the most likely option, but so much can change.”

It has been widely speculated (per the Mirror in February) over recent months that Manchester United are first in line to sign Sancho this summer, ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. The former Manchester City academy product has enjoyed a prolific season with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, making 22 appearances and racking up 14 goals and 14 assists so far (via WhoScored.com).

Despite his young age the 19-year-old has already been capped 11 times by the national team and netted 2 goals (EnglandStats). Indeed, many United fans will be hopeful executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward can push an agreement through before the start of Euro 2020, where Sancho is expected to reunite with his England teammates.
