There are interested glances here in the Football Transfer Tavern as reports emerge that Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic could be the subject of interest from Manchester United after admitting he is considering leaving the Serie A champions this summer, according to The Express.
Following the high profile arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente at the Juventus Stadium, it was revealed by Bianconeri manager Antonio Conte that the 29-year-old forward may not be awarded a starting berth next season.
According to reports from Italy, Conte said it’s ‘difficult to see a Juve with Vucinic, Tevez and Llorente on the field at the same time’ and the striker has taken these comments to mean he is not wanted anymore by the Old Lady.
New Manchester United manager David Moyes could now take advantage of this situation to make a move for the Montenegro international striker as the former Everton boss looks for a suitable partner for Dutch star Robin van Persie in attack.
With Wayne Rooney’s future at Old Trafford far from certain given strong interest from Chelsea, the Red Devils could swoop for the ex-Roma man who netted 14 times in 43 games in all competitions as a replacement for the England forward.
Moyes may face a battle to sign Vucinic with interest from AC MIlan while Russian side Zenit St Peterburg under the player’s former Roma manager Luciano Spalletti are also in contention for a possible summer move.
Juventus will not want to lose the striker on the cheap despite their strength in attack and will probbaly demand a fee upwards of £13 million for his services.
