According to a report from the BBC, Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Southend United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop – with manager Sol Campbell confirming that he was left out of the squad to face Doncaster Rovers due to the fact he was having a medical at an unnamed club – but these Red Devils supporters are everything but excited over the news.
Bishop, who hasn’t kept a single clean sheet this season for relegation-threatened Southend, conceding 37 goals in 12 League One starts for the club as part of a leaky backline (Transfermarkt), is reportedly on the verge of joining the Red Devils after having a medical – with Bishop potentially being the reserve keeper at Carrington on Tuesday rather than Genk midfielder Sander Berge.
The 20-year-old also played regularly for the Seasiders last season, keeping three clean sheets in 18 starts, with the Red Devils debatably signing the youngster as a reserve back up.
As a result, United supporters are sceptical over the need to sign Bishop, displaying confusion over his imminent arrival – find their best comments from Twitter down below.
Probably the only position where we are stacked, seems unnecessary
