According to a report from the BBC, Manchester United have completed the signing of Southend United keeper Nathan Bishop for an undisclosed fee – prompting many Red Devils supporters to become divided over the news.
Bishop, who made 17 appearances for the League One club this season, put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal at Carrington on Friday – heading straight into the Red Devils academy as the club’s fourth back up goalkeeper behind the likes of David De Gea, Sergio Romero and Lee Grant.
The 20-year-old, who didn’t keep a single clean sheet for Southend all season before his move, conceding 37 goals in 12 League One starts for the Seasiders (Transfermarkt), becomes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s additional signing of the last week. However, despite his potential considering his age, many United fans are divided over the acquisition – with some hailing the move whilst others perhaps find the deal slightly pointless.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter regarding the transfer.
