Fabrizio Romano has revealed Erik ten Hag’s latest demands to Manchester United ahead of a possible Old Trafford move.

The Lowdown: United closing in?

The Red Devils have been making a head start when it comes to bringing in a new manager, holding positive talks with the Ajax boss last month.

United officials have also spoken to Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, but reports suggested in recent days that the club are closing in on a move for Ten Hag, with negotiations gathering pace.

However, despite talks with Ten Hag and Ajax on compensation and how to deal with a formal announcement, it looks as if the move isn’t a formality just yet, with new demands from the 52-year-old now emerging.

The Latest: Ten Hag’s demands

Romano posted on Twitter on Friday morning, sharing news on Ten Hag and United. He revealed that the Dutchman has now demanded to be 100% involved when it comes to new signings, outgoings and fresh contracts and believes now is a ‘key point’ when it comes to a United rebuild.

The journalist outlined:

“Erik ten Hag has asked Man United to be 100% involved on present and future transfers strategy: new signings, outgoings, new contracts.

“Ten Hag considers this as "key point" to rebuild Man United - new signings have to be totally perfect for his idea and club project.”

The Verdict: More twists?

It looks as if there could be a few more twists and turns before Ten Hag is officially announced at Old Trafford, but he has made the right call by asking to be involved on a number of important topics.

He will want all the relative reassurances from the United board before leaving Amsterdam and putting pen to paper on a deal in Manchester, and this update may mean that he possibly won't make the move unless everything is in place off the pitch.

If the Red Devils truly want Ten Hag to replace Ralf Rangnick in the dugout, then they shouldn't have a problem granting him his wishes when it comes to behind-the-scenes business, but only time will tell whether that proves to be the case.
