Manchester United: Fans destroy Harry Maguire versus Leicester City

Some Manchester United fans have been destroying the display of Harry Maguire in the 2-2 draw versus Leicester City.

The England international did not have the best of games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team as the captain let two goals from the Foxes slip between his fingers.

He failed to make a single interception or tackle, and lost possession of the ball no fewer than nine times in the match, earning the central defender a rather measly 6.5 overall rating on Sofascore, which was one of the lowest out of any of his teammates to have set foot on the field.

The 27-year-old needs to step up his game if the Old Trafford faithful are serious about wanting to mount a title challenge with their bitter rivals in Liverpool.

These Red Devils destroyed the performance of Maguire on Twitter, with one MUFC supporter even branding him as an ’embarrassment’:

“United should be disappointed with that draw. Not commanding in defence, need to close down opposing players in possession near the box. Slow build-up in attack. Too many touches and passes between Bailly, Maguire and Fred= narrow and predictable #MUFC #LEIMUN”

“Whoever gave the recommendation to sign Maguire has to be sacked with immediate effect. The man and player are frauds and useless. #LEIMUN”
“Maguire is an embarrassment to Man Utd… He deserves nothing at Utd… He disgusts me. #LEIMUN #OleOut”

“James and Martial both should not start, Maguire needs to watch some old Rio and Vidic games, he is shocking #LEIMUN”

“We need a new CB in January. Maguire is too slow, takes too many touches and above all he’s not a leader. It’s not a personal agenda, he’s just not good enough for @ManUtd #mufc #leimun”
