Manchester United are still interested in a potential swoop for Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix, according to reports from Spain.

The Lowdown: Felix linked with Man United

Erik ten Hag will be looking for further signings in the upcoming January transfer window as he aims to make his squad even more complete and formidable moving forward.

Felix is one player who has been linked with a move to United in the recent past, with the 22-year-old seen as someone who could inject great quality into the team.

The Portuguese star's time at Atletico is arguably growing a little stagnant, having only started five games in La Liga this season, and a new report has emerged regarding his status at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Latest: United still keen on Felix

According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER [via Sport Witness], United 'continue to be interested' in signing Felix, although they 'won't offer' €125m (£108.8m) for him this time around.

That means that Atletico will likely have to accept a lower amount for the Portugal international, with his stock arguably dropping a little since his £113m move from Benfica three years ago.

The Verdict: Star quality

Felix has the ability to be a superstar at Old Trafford if a transfer is completed, with the Atletico star described as 'world-class' by football talent scout Jacek Kulig back in 2019.

As per Sky Sports, he has elicited comparisons with 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year winner Kaka - coincidentally his boyhood hero - due to his range of passing, strong eye for goal and position of play.

With Cristiano Ronaldo often not favoured by Ten Hag and Anthony Martial continuing to be injury-prone, Felix could come in as a regular starter down the middle for years to come.

At 22, Felix is still  ery young, despite already racking up 170 appearances for Atletico and Benfica combined, and he is someone who could explode in a more attack-minded team than Diego Simeone's, perhaps fully realising his potential if he comes to Old Trafford.
