Manchester United have been offered free agents Jamie Vardy, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Callum Wilson as the Red Devils look to bolster their attack for a bargain.

According to the Sun, United will only move for any of these players towards the end of the window if they fail to land their top targets. Having already secured the signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, United have also had a bid rejected for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

They remain locked in negotiation for the player, while also keeping tabs on Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Ollie Watkins. With Gyokores seemingly close to an Arsenal move and Osimhen close to returning to Galatasaray, United’s top list of top targets continues to shrink.

United remain on the market for a striker, after current striker Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles last season. They have shortlisted several names including free agents as financial constraints remain an issue this summer.

Vardy, Calvert-Lewin, and Wilson bring Premier League experience and proven goal scoring chops.

Experienced Premier League trio on radar of United

Calvert-Lewin might be United’s top choice out of the three, as reports last week suggested United were preparing a contract offer for the 28 year old. As the youngest of the three, Calvert-Lewin represents the best long term value and Amorim is reportedly keen on adding him as backup option.

Jamie Vardy is by far the oldest of the three at 38, but showed last season he still has impressive pace and mobility. He is a Leicester and Premier League legend and brings title winning pedigree to squad.

He has also been linked with a move to Wrexham as well as several clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia and has said he still feels he can perform at the top level.

Wilson is 33 and is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs following his announcement on Monday to depart Newcastle. Leeds appear to be the team most interested as they make their return to the Premier League, while Everton are also keen to add him as a replacement for Calvert-Lewin.

Wilson was plagued by injuries for much of his Newcastle career but showed his goal scoring prowess when fit. He struck 18 league goals in his last fully fit season (2022/23) before the arrival of Alexander Isak saw him fall down the pecking order.
