Paul Pogba has finally responded to his long-term critic Graeme Souness, and predictably plenty of Manchester United fans loved his latest comments.
The French World Cup winner has been subjected to harsh criticism from the ex-Scotland midfielder over the years, with Souness previously blasting the 27-year-old as “selfish,” and continuing his assault in a recent Q&A with the Sunday Times.
However, after months of biting his tongue, it looks like Pogba has decided to fight fire with fire. Speaking to the United Podcast, the midfield maestro cheekily admitted: “I didn’t even know who he was, really.”
“I heard he was a great player and stuff like that. I know the face, but [not] the name.”
“I’m not someone who watches a lot of [punditry]. I watch a lot of football but I don’t stay after the game to listen to what they say about why they did this, or why they did that. I like to focus on football.”

Since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus, the Frenchman has scored 31 goals and created 31 assists in all competitions so far, lifting the Europa League trophy and League Cup in the process (via Transfermarkt).
Pogba has once again been the centre of attention in an ongoing transfer saga over the course of the season, stoked by the machinations of his infamous agent Mino Raiola, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will still be at the Theatre of Dreams before the end of the summer, with Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid keen to sign the United talisman.
As hostilities have once again resumed, it doesn’t look like a ceasefire will be called anytime soon.
Loads of Red Devils gushed over Pogba’s interview, with several supporters saying Souness was “finished” and “dusted.”
