There are some sensational reports in the Football Transfer Tavern this morning as The Mirror suggests that Manchester United could make a big-money offer for Juventus star Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean international midfielder is reportedly one of several names David Moyes is looking at to bolster his mis-firing side. Manchester United again slipped up at home yesterday, suffering defeat to rivals Tottenham, leaving them a huge 11 points off leaders Arsenal and five off Liverpool, who are in fourth.
Vidal only penned a new deal keeping him at the Turin club until 2017 a few months ago but French reports indicate that his head may still be turned by the lucrative package on offer from the Old Trafford outfit.
The impressive box-t0-box midfielder, who has become a main-stay in Antonio Conte’s side since joining in 2011, would offer fresh options to Moyes as he still looks to probably replace legendary United midfielder dynamo Paul Scholes.
It would prove something of a coup to recruit the 26-year-old given the Old Lady’s reluctance to sell but with plenty of cash on offer we’ve seen stranger things in the transfer market.
