Manchester United: Red Devils fans blast Ed Woodward’s latest update

Ed Woodward says Manchester United will remain competitive in the transfer market this summer despite the ongoing pandemic, via Sky Sports

Despite revenues of £627.1m keeping the Red Devils as one of the richest clubs in the world, Woodward revealed last week he does not think it will be “business as usual” in the upcoming window, but he insisted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still be able to enjoy financial support.

The club’s executive vice-chairman commented “as I said before and I’ve said this many times – we remain committed to backing Ole to win trophies.”

He concluded “that’s our core objective as a club.”

Solskjaer’s side are currently fifth in the Premier League table, just behind Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, and were firmly in the race for Champions League football before sport was suspended nationwide.

The Norwegian’s team are also in the hunt for silverware to add to United’s stacked trophy cabinet, with eyes on the FA Cup and Europa League.

Popular fan site @UtdReport posted an excerpt from Woodward’s interview on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, many United fans blasted his comments online, with one supporter branding the update a “great PR exercise,” and another simply adding “yawn.”

Take a look at some of the scathing reactions down below…
