Manchester United: Red Devils fans react to Diogo Dalot’s birthday message

Several Manchester United fans have reacted to a post from the club’s official Twitter account wishing Diogo Dalot a happy birthday.

The Portuguese right-back has scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists in 33 appearances for the Red Devils. Dalot moved to Old Trafford from FC Porto for a reported fee of £19.8m back in 2018 after winning Liga NOS with the Blue and Whites (Transfermarkt).

After the arrival of England international Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer, he has struggled to nail down a place in the starting line-up, and has only featured in 4 games in the Premier League under club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season (Transfermarkt).

Dalot’s current contract is set to expire in June 2023 and his market value is priced at £18m via Transfermarkt. The 21-year-old has also won 6 caps for Portugal at U21 level.

Naturally the club’s tweet prompted loads of mixed reactions from the United faithful, with one comment suggesting the youngster is a “Portuguese shard of glass.” Other supporters urged patience with another adding “people don’t understand how good he can be.”
