Some Red Devils fans have ripped into Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola following chief football writer Samuel Luckhurst’s update on the Frenchman’s transfer saga.
Writing in the Manchester Evening News, Luckhurst suggested United might well have the last laugh.
The journalist noted “Fernandes’ form is galling for Raiola and last week’s story about Pogba being open to a new United contract also smacked of fear of becoming forgotten.”
“United have not missed Pogba throughout his prolonged absence and he has only hit world-class heights since the 2018 World Cup when the tap was turned back on at the start of Solskjaer’s caretaker reign. It was turned off as soon as Zidane returned to Madrid.”

January signing Bruno Fernandes has turned out to be the bargain of the transfer window, netting 2 goals and providing 3 assists in just 5 appearances in the Premier League, as well as a goal and an assist in the Europa League (Transfermarkt).
On the other hand Pogba is still nursing his way back from ankle injury and has only managed to play in 7 games in the English top flight all season (Transfermarkt). Mino Raiola has gained an infamous reputation for moving his talent stable from club to club, and has clashed with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on multiple occasions.
Pogba’s future at Old Trafford has been the subject of great scrutiny over recent years although reports recently emerged the French World Cup winner intends to stay and sign a new contract extension.
It seems like the transfer debacle has frustrated a large portion of the United faithful as several supporters lashed out at Pogba and Raiola on social media. One fan remarked the “sooner the better the toxic duo leave.”

It amazes me how everyone has just forgotten last summer when Pogba very outspokenly declared in an interview that its time he started a new challenge.
And that’s not to mention half a dozen times his brother and agents have said the same. Sooner the better the toxic duo leave.
