Manchester United: Red Devils hold talks with Dean Henderson amid interest from Chelsea and Spurs

Manchester United are holding talks with Dean Henderson after his loan with Sheffield United ended, reports claim.

Man United are yet to decide what his future will hold, amid interest from Chelsea.

According to The Manchester Evening News, he will leave on holiday later this week, as negotiations continue between the club and his representatives, with the Red Devils ready to offer him a new deal.

Henderson, 23, impressed on loan at Bramall Lane, starting 36 games in the Premier League, keeping the same amount of clean sheets as David de Gea in the process.

Despite his young age, he still managed to concede fewer goals than his older teammate this season.

A source close to the goalkeeper told the outlet he is desperate to play for United but will look elsewhere if they cannot give him what he wants.

The Blues are prepared to more than double his wages in an attempt to try and prise him away from Old Trafford.

To make matters worse, he has grown frustrated by a lack of opportunities at his boyhood club, and will push for a move if he does not earn a place in the first team.

De Gea has copped a fair amount of criticism for his performances between the posts this season, as he has been culpable for several key mistakes so far, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed his first-choice keeper for the time being at least.

The club legend has made it clear that he will get plenty of chances to prove himself at the Theatre of Dreams. However, those hopes and aspirations have been temporarily squashed as Solskjaer has admitted he has no intention of axing the Spaniard anytime soon.

While Henderson is not interested in playing second fiddle to De Gea, Chelsea are not the only Premier League club interested in signing him in the summer, as Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is also a keen admirer.

United have developed a reputation for letting go of youngsters who become world-beaters, as ended up happening with Gerard Pique, who has won La Liga eight times with Barcelona. As it stands, the board will not want to make a similar mistake again, and will be eager to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

United fans, do you think Solskjaer should give Henderson a chance? Let us know down below!
