Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to reports from Italy.
It is no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new midfielder, as the Red Devils were run ragged by West Ham in the second half at Old Trafford, and it seems as though Rabiot is at the top of the list.
Calciomercato claims Juventus are willing to listen to offers for the former Paris Saint-Germain ace.
Rabiot, 25, is a typical defensive midfielder, capable of taking long shots and winning aerial duels. Most importantly, he seems to have no significant weaknesses, which is surely an overwhelming positive.
The Frenchman, who is currently valued at £22.95m via Transfermarkt, would be a cheaper alternative to Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, who United have also been considering signing in the summer.
Rabiot has been a regular feature in Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, playing 25 games in the Serie A so far, scoring one goal, making 1.5 tackles per game, averaging one interception, and completing 1.3 dribbles on average (stats provided by WhoScored).
The Italian publication revealed his mother, Veronique, who is also his agent, is ready to consider proposals.
Make no mistake, the French international is exactly the signing Solskjaer needs to get United on the right track, as his trophy cabinet more than speaks for itself. He is a proven match-winner, as Juve are on course to win another Italian title this year.
However, there is no doubt he will come at a cost, as Ed Woodward will have a transfer battle on his hands if he wants to bring Rabiot to Old Trafford, amid interest from Everton and Newcastle, among others.
