Manchester United will sign Odion Ighalo this summer after it was revealed his loan expires a month earlier than normal, via the Daily Mail.
According to Sportsmail, Ighalo’s short-term contract is set to end on May 31, rather than in June.
Since moving to Old Trafford from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua at the start of the year, the Nigerian striker has bagged 4 goals in 8 appearances in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, including a sensational screamer against Austrian side LASK in the Europa League earlier this month (Transfermarkt).
Ighalo is valued at just £5.85m via Transfermarkt, but the Mail claims United are prepared to meet Shanghai’s £15m valuation of the forward, given his string of impressive performances in recent weeks.
Unsurprisingly many Red Devils are delighted by the latest transfer update, with some supporters praising the board’s decision, hailing the 30-year-old as the “perfect option.” Another added Ighalo is a “magic beast.”

Ighalo is just a magic beast Ole brought last transfer window. Ed Woodward should wanna pay £15M for him to stay another season here. Playing for a team that he dreamt of since a kid, and finally made it just a few months after his sister’s death, is just magical @ighalojude

Would be a good decision. He’s the box striker we need. Sometimes we just need a poacher to be there

He’d be a great squad player. Has exceeded all expectations so far on his loan + he loves the club. We need to be getting sancho + a world class striker and Grealish +Ighalo. Injurys have proved we don’t have the squad depth we need

Fantastic deal for the player and club. He’s clearly shown he wants to be here and play for the club and his performances have backed it up. Also $15M is nothing in this market. The club will pry make that much off his shirt sales anyways. Excellent squad player for the price
