Tammy Abraham has revealed he wants to play alongside Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford in the future, in an exclusive with Copa90.
The two England teammates have impressed in the Premier League this season, and the Chelsea forward has made it clear he wants to line up with Rashford more regularly (Express).
Speaking to Red Devils club legend Rio Ferdinand, Abraham admitted his fellow countryman has impressed him the most during their time with Gareth Southgate on international duty, saying: “the way he strikes a ball. His skills. His good feet. The way he beats players.”
The Blues academy product concluded: “he’s just a joy to watch. “I’d love to [play alongside Rashford regularly].”
Rashford has bagged 14 goals in only 22 games in the English top flight under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in this campaign, taking 1.4 shots per game, averaging 1.1 key passes, and completing 2 dribbles per match via WhoScored. The 22-year-old is valued at £57.6m according to Transfermarkt.
By contrast, Tammy has made 25 appearances for Frank Lampard’s side so far, scoring 13 goals, registering 2.9 shots on average, making 0.8 key passes, and attempting just 0.6 dribbles up until now (WhoScored). His current market value is estimated at £36m per Transfermarkt.
As expected, a large section of the Old Trafford faithful reacted to the youngster’s comments on Twitter, with one United fan dubbing the attacking duo “ballers,” and another cheekily suggesting Abraham would be a “great backup for Greenwood.”
