Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are biting their nails as they hope their stand out performer stays at the club after the Daily Star revealed the club have offered David De Gea a deal worth £200,000-a-week.
The Spaniard is a top target for Real Madrid and the Red Devils are hoping that if they can make De Gea one of the highest paid keepers in the world, then he may stay at Old Trafford.
People believe the Spanish number one should be in contention for player of the season having made huge saves when being exposed with United’s leaky defence, throughout this season.
Los Blancos want the 24-year-old at the Bernabeu to replace Iker Casillas.
But despite Madrid’s heavy interest, De Gea, is not in any rush to leave United but if Carlo Ancelotti offers him a lucrative deal, then it may to good for him turn down.
