Manchester United have cooled their interest in Aston Villa star Jack Grealish as they are confident that they can sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports.
Villa’s billionaire owner Nassef Sawiris wants Man United to part ways with at least £80m if they are to prise Grealish away from Villa Park, which is the same amount they paid Leicester City for Harry Maguire last year.
According to Sky Sports, as per @utdreport, the Red Devils are focusing all of their efforts on getting a deal done for Sancho instead. Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a keen admirer of the Aston Villa captain, backroom staff at Old Trafford are concerned about how he would fit into the side.
January signing Bruno Fernandes has been in outstanding form since the Premier League restart with seven goals, while the front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood would give Solskjaer a selection dilemma.
Given the obvious reservations, Ed Woodward is not prepared to spend such a colossal figure, and he has turned his full attention to sorting out a deal for Sancho in the summer.
Unsurprisingly, lots of United fans slammed Grealish’s “ridiculous” transfer valuation on social media, with one supporter tweeting that Villa are “deluded”, while another added he is a “bang average” player as the Midlands club finished 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.

GRealish is a bang average player, Villa have been shocking this season which has made him look better than he actually is.

Absolutely ridiculous by Villa. Unfair to Grealish as well, being priced out of a dream move. Get VDB.

Aston Villa are more deluded than Arsenal fans saying they’re gonna win the league after beating Newcastle

£80m for Jack Grealish. The world has gone mad.

Good. Grealish is bang average. Would rather have James Maddison for half the price.
