No sooner have Manchester City been linked with Lyons Gourcuff that the transfer merry-go-round has stumped up another possible signing in Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Mario Götze.
Götze, 18, has already been linked with all of Europe’s elite at one stage or another after bursting onto the Bundesliga stage in 2009. He has been a consistent performer for the Iduna Park outfit contributing 2 goals this season as the black and yellows have risen to the top of the championship.
The 1 cap midfielder has been the subject of much transfer speculation over the summer of 2010 and many believed his future lay away from Germany. Borussia fought of the interest of Italian giants Juventus and Inter during that window. It now seems though, with the January window on the horizon and Roberto Mancini seemingly having an endless transfer kitty that Götze could be Eastlands bound before too long.
An £8 Million fee has been touted around the media for the midfield marvel but the Dortmund hierarchy are likely to want double that to lose their prized youngster.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!
Stop it now, I can’t take any more.
Are you going to link every football player in the world who does not currently play for City, with “Roberto Mancini seemingly having an endless transfer kitty”?
On the flip side, are you going to name every City player with a move away from Eastlands in January?
This is like the work of a bad spiritualist medium, throwing names around till one sticks, except less impressive and believable.
Have some pride in your hobby.
i think many are leaving in january so replacements are required….and out ov these only 3 players will come to city
and edin dzeko…david luiz…gourcouff are must i think
An £8 Million fee?? Haha, that’s hilarious. There is absolutely no friggin’ way Dortmund is going to sell him for a fee like that. Just look at the inflationary prices that are paid for players these days. Once Götze will be sold the fee will most certainly be in the region of £20+ Million and rightly so since he already is a top class player in my opinion.
