Manchester City are thought to be looking towards Napoli front man Ezequiel Lavezzi as a possible replacement for Carlos Tevez.
footylatest.com has suggested the club are looking to offer the Italians £18m for the Argentine who struck nine times during 30 outings last campaign to help Napoli secure Champions league football.
Lavezzi is contracted until 2015 but the right price could see him pushed out of the Naples club as it appears they have an eye on a possible replacement themselves in Inter Milan hit man Diego Milito, according to sources in Italy.
His own belief certainly believes he fits the bill for what they are looking for in Manchester as his response to being compared with legend Diego Maradona was: “I am not the new Maradona – I am more like Tevez.”
Well Diego disagreed when it came to picking his world cup squad in 2010 as there was no room for the 26 year old striker.
If they are looking for someone to offer what Carlos Tevez would leave behind then I think they will have to look further Lavezzi. With the ambition at the club it is likely they will look to replace world class, with world class.
He is undoubtedly a talent, but they are certainly big boots to fill… We shall see…
