Marcelo Bielsa makes first big decision as Leeds edge closer to confirming arrival

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern could be in for some good news this summer as it looks as though they have solved their managerial issue at long last.

It is being claimed in the Daily Telegraph that the club are close to announcing the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa and the former Argentina and Chile manager has already set his first orders out for the side.

The 62-year-old is believed to have already told his players to report back to training earlier than previously expected, with it being moved a week forward as he wants the side to get used to his methodology and the way he wants the club to play their football this season.

Bielsa will want to see the side improve from their 13th place finish last season in the Championship and will know that he has a huge task ahead of him, so the locals in the bar will be watching with great expectation.

Landlord’s Verdict

The arrival of Bielsa is considered a coup for the Whites and the punters in the Tavern will be excited to see what he can bring to the team, although a number of them will remain cautious about his ability to succeed.

The decision to have players return a week earlier to training could potentially upset the players who want to enjoy their summer break, but the extra week of fitness training could prove to be decisive in Leeds’ bid for promotion.
