Marcelo Bielsa reveals Adam Forshaw out for 6-8 weeks

Leeds United will be getting ready for their Championship opener with Stoke City on Sunday and will be wanting to get off to the best possible start.

Marcelo Bielsa will be looking for his side to get a positive result against the division new-boys, following their relegation from the Premier League, however, his preparations for the match will have been disrupted following the latest injury setback suffered to the side.

According to Phil Hay, Adam Forshaw is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks after suffering a foot injury.

Bielsa confirms that Forshaw is out for six to eight weeks. Says it's a "bizarre injury" – the ligament affected is in his foot. "It's not very usual." He says it's "bad news for the team because Adam is a big player. But we have other solutions for this position." #lufc

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, who attended a press conference with the Leeds boss, revealed that Bielsa had called the injury very “bizarre” and stated that his loss would become a huge blow to the side.

The Verdict:

The 26-year-old has had a difficult time at the Elland Road outfit following his arrival from Middlesbrough in January.

Forshaw has been hit with a number of injuries which has limited the opportunities he has had with the club and his latest setback does not come at a great time.

Leeds are beginning to look a little thin in the middle of the field, with the departure of Ronaldo Vieira to Sampdoria, although Lewis Baker could look to make his debut for the club following his arrival from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
