Mbappe In… The dream 17/18 Arsenal front three that would terrorise PL defences

Arsenal have endured a difficult campaign this season but it can still end in success if the Gunners seal a top-four finish and beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final later this month.

Fans in the bar unanimously agree that major additions need to be made this summer and believe that a major squad overhaul could take place, amidst uncertainty on the futures of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Our landlord doesn’t feel both players will leave but expects Alexis will find his way out of the Emirates Stadium this summer, which would give the Gunners a major challenge to replace the Chilean superstar for the new campaign.

However, Arsenal will have plenty of funds available this summer to improve their squad, and their kitty will be increased by any sale of Alexis Sanchez, and our landlord believes that the Gunners should go all-out to lure Kylian Mbappe to the Emirates Stadium.

He doesn’t expect that to be the only attacking signing for Arsenal this summer though and he’s drawn up the dream front-three that can lead the Gunners to glory next season…..

LW: Mesut Ozil

The German World Cup winner, and currently Arsenal’s most expensive signing of all-time, has often been criticised for his performances in North London but he stands as a crucial part of the side – and building the attack around him next season could help the Gunners seal success.

Should Arsenal stick with the three-man defence that they’ve set-up in recent weeks, Ozil will play more of a wide role in the attack but the addition of wing-backs means that the German can push centrally – and he’ll have plenty of support alongside him.

Arsenal still have to secure Ozil’s future at the Emirates Stadium but the lack of interest in the former Real Madrid man should help their chances, as well as the fact that Arsenal wouldn’t dare face the wrath of their supporters if they were to lose Alexis Sanchez and Ozil in the same summer.

RW: Riyad Mahrez

Leicester City hero Riyad Mahrez was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal last summer but elected to remain with the Premier League champions for another year, on the agreement that he would be able to leave this summer.

The Foxes enjoyed a thrilling campaign in the Champions League but their domestic form has been poor, which has lead to a likely mass exodus from the King Power Stadium this summer- and Mahrez will be one of the most highly-coveted members of the squad.

Should Alexis leave Arsenal, the Gunners will have a hole to fill in their attack and would have the money necessary to push through a deal for Mahrez – who could excel with Mesut Ozil feeding in chances to the Algerian attacker.

ST: Kylian Mbappe

The name on everybody’s lips this season, teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe has excelled with Monaco – helping push the French principality side towards the Ligue 1 title and to the semi-final stages of the Champions League, where they fell to Italian giants Juventus.

Monaco’s stellar squad is likely to be raided this summer and Mbappe’s services will be highly sought after, although Arsenal should go all-out to bring the French striker to the Emirates Stadium with the offer of making him the focal point of Arsenal’s attack.

Mbappe has been compared heavily to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and the French connection in North London is still strong, which would help Mbappe settle into the Premier League, but Arsenal would likely have to set a transfer record to get their man.
