Middlesbrough must look at West Ham’s Nathan Holland in January

Middlesbrough like many expected they would do, are high-flying in the Championship and consequently look good for a potential return to the top flight.

With Tony Pulis controlling the side perfectly, the players have delivered and currently sit in 2nd place. Along with the best defensive in the league, offensively they also have some great options that are really starting to deliver.

Nevertheless to be more consistent, some more attacking options would be desirable for Middlesbrough. Especially some wingers to provide crosses for those frontmen, a tactic Pulis likes to use, would see West Ham’s Nathan Holland become a great option on-loan in January.

Holland, who has just returned from injury, is already in search of a place in the first-team after seeing the likes of Declan Rice and Grady Diangana securing a spot in the Hammers line-up.

Contesting for a place against Diangana and their record signing Felipe Anderson on the wing, Nathan Holland may decide instead to go out on-loan, to boost his confidence and experience.

Holland was on the cusp of a first-team call-up but his injury this season ruled out any possibility of Manuel Pellegrini selecting him.

There is no reason as to why another West Ham player couldn’t do a job on-loan, and if he is as successful as Jordan Hugill, who has recently bagged a brace, Middlesbrough will fancy their promotion chances even more.

Nathan Holland is without a doubt a talented youngster that could prove to be the next big thing at West Ham. However, with first-team opportunities potentially difficult to come across, a move down to the Championship could prove to West Ham exactly what he’s all about.
