Manchester United supporters in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting new arrivals following the addition of Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

Jose Mourinho highlighted his defence as an area that required reinforcement and the purchase of Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof has provided the Red Devils with defensive recruitment.

Now, United fans’ focus is placed on other areas of the pitch, hoping for arrivals that would strengthen the quality of their starting eleven.

The player who has dominated the majority of United’s headlines this summer is Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard was utilised as a rotational option for much of last season, and it is likely that the Spaniard is looking for consistent first-team involvement.

With Ibrahimovic departing the Red Devils, Mourinho’s need for a striker is apparent, and Morata is seemingly the perfect fit.

To give the 24-year-old the best possible chance of thriving in Manchester, our landlord believes that United should try and sign one out of the following two players…..

Ivan Perisic

The Croatian international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the majority of the transfer window, and our landlord can see why.

The 28-year-old has done exceptionally well since joining Inter Milan in 2015; he has scored a reputable total of 20 goals in 79 appearances, increasing his career total to 96 goals in 340 games.

Inter Milan’s creative winger is a menacing player, regarded for his dribbling ability and tendency to cut inside.

He also flaunts a marvellous work rate – which would certainly please Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho – and his pace and power ensure that he’s a dangerous threat on the counter-attack.

Having registered nine assists for Inter last season, it is clear that his arrival would help Morata thrive.

James Rodriguez

Another intriguing option that Mourinho could look to pursue is James Rodriguez.

The Colombian winger has been out-of-favour at Real Madrid recently, losing his starting place in the team – with the likes of Asensio and Isco providing the 25-year-old with fierce competition.

Despite this, he still managed to score 11 goals and provide eight assists last season, and he has already forged an understanding with Morata having played with the striker at Madrid.

Very few players are eligible to be branded world-class, yet Rodriguez is unquestionable of that calibre.

His attacking abilities are simply stunning, and he is arguably superior to all the attacking options that Mourinho currently has at his disposal.

Rodriguez’s arrival would notably fortify the quality of Manchester United’s team.
