Morgan Schneiderlin has slammed Everton fans in an exclusive interview with The Athletic by claiming that whatever he did there, “it would never be enough”.
The France international did not see himself as a fan favourite with the Goodison Park faithful and had this to say on his career at the Merseyside club:
“The love had gone from the fans and also from the media. If I played badly, they would go for me. If I played well, nothing.
“I felt that whatever I did at Everton, it would never be enough.”
Schneiderlin came to Everton with expectation
Indeed, Schneiderlin arrived at Everton with expectation having joined for a quite substantial £20.7m transfer fee from Manchester United back in January 2017.

Having previously moved to the Red Devils from Southampton for a whopping £31.5m in 2015, a lot of money was being spent on the 30-year old to try and live up to his price tag.
Schneiderlin never really performed for Everton
Indeed, considering the rather large sum of money that was spent on Schneiderlin by the Toffees, the defensive midfielder never really delivered for them on the pitch.
In the 2017/18 term, when Schneiderlin played his highest amount of games for the Blues, they finished eighth in the Premier League with a -14 goal difference, suggesting that he did not greatly help in keeping goals out.
Last season, Schneiderlin was limited to just 18 matches in all competitions and he only completed the full 90 minutes on six occasions, as per Transfermarkt.
Everton made a big loss on Schneiderlin
Carlo Ancelotti deemed it feasible to make a staggering £18.7m loss on Schneiderlin as he was sold to French side Nice for a mere £2m in July this year.

This might explain why some Everton supporters did not take a liking to him as he claims, with Ancelotti happy to send him packing to his homeland.
