Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking at what three wingers could add an extra something to the already impressive squad albeit a little imbalanced at the moment.

With the January window fast approaching day by day, our regulars think the United rumour mill will, as always, start to ramp up and go into overdrive. Indeed, while Jose Mourinho has assembled an all-star squad over his 18 months in charge with some good strength in depth, although there’s always room for improvement in his search to claw back the deficit from local rivals Man City.

With Manchester City looking so good at the moment and sitting on top of the league, the punters in our bar hope he once again splashes the cash to address some weak areas within the team.

The regulars in the Tavern have gathered together a couple of names across Europe that could fit the United bill and these three wingers could excite the Old Trafford crowd for years to come.

As a result, they’ll get back on their feet and roll back the years of enjoying the marauding winger flying the flanks once again.

Emil Forsberg

The 26-year-old Swedish international is currently with German surprise outfit RB Leipzig, pulling the strings over in Germany’s Bundesliga.

Forsberg has helped whichever team he’s been with to titles and trophies over the years, largely impressing as a hard-working yet creative outlet along the way. He’d be a welcome addition to the United squad and not shy of finding the back of the net either, proving instrumental from the wide area and really making a difference to the balance of the team.

Alongside Ibrahimovic and Lindelof, there’s a growing Swedish presence at the moment, which should help the winger settle in a little quicker.

Carlos Soler

The Valencia wide man is at home in the attacking midfield role as he is out on the flank and that little versatility could be a real positive to help him secure the move to Old Trafford. With Valencia, who sit in third place above Real Madrid, impressing in La Liga at the moment, the youngster has been making a name for himself and could follow the likes of Juan Mata and David Silva into the Premier League.

Soler wouldn’t come cheap and a reported £71m buyout clause may be a stumbling point, but Mourinho always seems to get his man.

Wilfried Zaha

United and Mourinho have a recent history of reuniting with old players and this one could be no different, during an ill-fated time at Old Trafford, Zaha didn’t live up to the expectations he’d set as a youngster at Crystal Palace. He ended up returning to Selhurst Park to re-find the form that had earned him the move in the first place.

After a few seasons, we’re now seeing the fruits of Zaha’s labour. He’s made many of the big clubs stand up and pay attention to his outstanding wing play as Palace turn their season around in dramatic fashion. If the move was sanctioned, Zaha has a lot to prove to people.
