Mourinho must ask Woodward to seal these 2 January deals next week

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to find their voices this season and are expecting a January transfer window to help their resurgence this year.

After a few years in the wilderness the club had looked set for another desperate season this time around but it appears they have finally found their feet under Jose Mourinho.

A sluggish early part of the season has been followed up by some serious clicking amongst the playing staff and now they look as formidable as they have done for over three years.

The likes of Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are beginning to look at home after their summer moves whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic is continuing to be a class act this year.

The January window is the latest opportunity for Mourinho to add some more stars to his collection and our landlord reckons he should get on to Ed Woodward to see these two deals sorted out…

Nelson Semedo

The Benfica defender has earned himself quite the reputation in Portugal and would be a very good player for many sides in Europe’s top five leagues.

His pace and power makes him a nightmare for opposing wingers to try and beat whilst he also gives opposing full backs problems, too, with his surging runs forward. He’d be ideal for United, then, who could do with another option at right back than just Antonio Valencia.

Antoine Griezmann

The French star would be a class signing for any team so United would be doing well to get him in.

Atletico Madrid look like they’ve finally ran out of that panache that has seen them punch above their weight so often in recent years and so Griezmann may feel it’s time to move on and try a new challenge. The former Real Sociedad man was one of the stars of 2016 in reaching both the European Championship final and the Champions League showpiece – proving he is world class.
