According to calciomercato.com (via The Express,) Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the young Brazilian Thiago Maia but could face competition for his signature from Ligue 1 side PSG.
Certainly, the news has come as an exciting development for our resident Red Devils and Blues fans here in the Transfer Tavern who like the look of the player that excelled for his nation at the Olympic games earlier this year.
The report suggests neither Premier League club has lodged a bid yet, though there is interest, but they’ll have to act fast, you feel, if they want the Santos man as Juventus are also in the equation as well as PSG.
The midfielder is described in the report as one of the most exciting talents around in Brazil and when you look at the clubs linked, he’s clearly got a bit about him.
It’s a topic of much debate here in the Transfer Tavern where he’d be best off for his future with our Chelsea fans saying he wouldn’t play under their former manager Jose Mourinho at United whilst our Red Devils fans reckon he’d end up at Vitesse Arnhem on loan if he joined Chelsea.
