Chelsea fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as BBC Sport claim that Jose Mourinho will not let Petr Cech leave without a fight.

After finally ending the debate over who will be his number one this season, the Chelsea boss has claimed that he does not want Cech to leave, despite being replaced by Thibaut Courtois, and we certainly think that Cech is too good to be spending an entire season on the bench.

Mourinho spoke after the victory over Burnley, where Courtois produced one world class save and claimed: “I hope Petr doesn’t want to go and I hope he doesn’t have offers to go and, if he does have offers, he refuses to go.

“Petr was disappointed but football is sometimes like this. Players can often be unhappy with managers.”
